Flicksy is a native media browser for Mac. It reads the folders already on your computer and connected drives. Nothing is imported, copied, or uploaded.
What you need
- A Mac with Apple Silicon
- macOS 15 or later
Install Flicksy
- Download Flicksy.
- Open the disk image and drag Flicksy into Applications.
- Open Flicksy from Applications or Spotlight.
The first launch may ask for permission to read folders you choose. Flicksy only sees the locations you add.
Start the trial
The complete app is included. The 14-day trial begins only when you click Start 14-Day Free Trial inside Flicksy — not when you download it. It does not auto-renew and never creates a charge.

Take the welcome tour
The first time Flicksy opens, a short welcome walkthrough covers the core loop: browse in place, jump to a folder, preview or compare, and organize without moving files.
You can replay it later from Help → Welcome to Flicksy…
Add your first folder
On the last welcome page, choose Add Folder…. After the tour, use Add Folder… in the sidebar, drag a folder from Finder onto Flicksy, or open the command palette (⌘K) and choose Add Root Folder….
Pick a project folder, an external drive, or any directory that already holds images, video, or audio. Flicksy indexes that location and shows thumbnails in the library. Your files stay where they are.
You can add more folders later the same way.
Find your way around
The sidebar lists the folders you added, plus Favorites, Tags, Collections, and Clipboard. The main view is a grid of thumbnails. Switch between All, Images & Video, and Audio with ⌘1, ⌘2, and ⌘3.
Two shortcuts are worth learning first:
- ⌘J jumps to any folder, tag, or collection.
- ⌘K opens the command palette for files, commands, and organization.
